About Estee

I am passionate about people and want to see each individual grow to their full potential. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Education, English, and Psychology (Cum Laude) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (Cum Laude) from the University of Pretoria. My honours degree in Educational Psychology (Cum Laude) is also from the University of Pretoria. I further expanded my expertise with a Master’s degree in Educational Psychology (Cum Laude), focusing my research on the resilience of emerging adults during COVID-19. My work has been presented at the 2022 PsySSA Symposium, addressing relationships and emerging adult resilience.

My professional journey includes experience at international schools in Switzerland and South Africa, an internship at Tyger Valley College in Pretoria, and support work at a school for children with autism. These experiences have enriched my understanding of diverse educational and psychological needs.

I am registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA), the Psychological Society of South Africa (PsySSA), and the Educational Psychology Association of South Africa (EPASSA). I am also a certified John Maxwell speaker, coach, trainer and behavioral analyst, with additional training in LEGO Therapy, Sandplay Therapy, and Play Therapy.

About the Practice

At the heart of my private practice is a commitment to creating a safe, compassionate, and nonjudgmental environment where clients can freely explore their thoughts and feelings. I take a client-centered approach, tailoring each therapeutic plan and session to the unique needs, personality, and preferences of the individual, adapting methods to best address the presenting challenges within the client’s unique circumstances and worldview.

Our methods include Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Play Therapy, Bibliotherapy, Positive Psychology, Psychotherapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). These approaches allow me to nurture and enhance the intrinsic and extrinsic strengths of children, parents, and families.

I am especially passionate about working with children and families within the neurodivergent community and providing tailored interventions for challenges such as anxiety, low mood, trauma, bullying, anger, behavioral difficulties, and relational challenges.

In addition to therapy, I offer psychoeducational and scholastic assessments, school readiness evaluations, concentration screenings, and workshops to support holistic development and academic success. Using relevant and up-to-date assessment measures, I ensure accurate, reliable results while making the testing process more engaging and enjoyable for clients.

I recognize that multiple factors influence a child’s learning and development. By using comprehensive assessment tools, I aim to gain a holistic understanding of how your child learns, identify potential barriers they may face in the classroom, and provide strategies to help them overcome these challenges and reach their full potential.
